CONGRATULATIONS, BAND ON AN OUTSTANDING SEASON!!!!!!
From the PHS morning announcements
on 10/24:
The band competed Saturday at the Peach State Marching Festival in Rome, earning top honors. All
areas earned superior ratings, our percussion section was named best in class and had the highest score in the division, and
Drum Major Candice Rittenhouse was named best in class and had the highest score of the day. The band earned best in
class 2A honors, and had the highest score of the combined 1A and 2A classes out of 16 bands, receiving the Dr. David Walters
Championship Trophy. This marks the second year in a row for the band to have received this honor.
For the
season, the band has won its class at all three competitions, and our drum major was named best overall twice. Mr. Steelnack
and Ms. Webb would like to thank all band members for their dedication and committment to excellence throughout the year,
and to the faculty, staff and administration here at PHS a big thank you for your continued support of the band program.
